What is it with those of us who seem to be born with a restless soul? A gypsy heart?
Are we fleeing from something?
Or are we some of the few who live life to the fullest, each moment new and eternal?
Will we ever find rest?
Are we supposed to find rest in life?

The wayward wind
- Patsy Cline

Oh, the wayward wind is a restless wind
A restless wind that yearns to wander
And I was born the next of kin
The next of kin to the wayward wind

In a lonely shack by a railroad track
I spent my younger days
And I guess the sound of the outward bound
Made me a slave to my wand'ring ways

Oh I met a boy in a border town
I vowed we'd never part
Tho' I tried my best to settle down
He's now alone with a broken heart

Oh, I met him there in a border town
He vowed we'd never part
Tho' he tried his best to settle down
Now I'm alone with a broken heart

And the wayward wind is a restless wind
A restless wind that yearns to wander
And I was born the next of kin
The next of kin to the wayward wind
The next of kin to the wayward wind

I Have Seen A Butterfly
- Lisa Ekdahl
(Translated from Swedish)

I have seen a butterfly
this butterfly was blue
I have seen a butterfly
so beautifully flying by
I wanted to hold
this beauty in my hand
but beauty cannot be held
it is just something you glimpse
once in a while

I have often thought of you
of what you told me, what you knew
and how you awakened all the dreams
I had strangled with my self-despise
You are just as beautiful
like this butterfly I saw
as eternal and fluid are you
as the changeable blue waves of the sea

I have seen a butterfly
a butterfly flew by
I have seen a butterfly
free of melancholy
I wanted to hold
this freedom in my hand
but freedom cannot be held
but if I open my hand
it may rest there
now and then

if I open up my hand
it can rest there
sometimes

Running to stand still
-U2

And so she woke up
Woke up from where she was lying still
Said I, I got to do something
About where I'm going
Step on a steam train
Step out of the driving rain
Maybe run from the darkness in the night

Sing now

Singing ha la la la de day
Ha la la la de day ha la la de day

Sweet the sin
Bitter the taste in my mouth
I see seven towers
But I only see one way out
You got to cry with out weeping
Talk without speaking
Scream without raising your voice
You know I took the poison from the poison stream
Then I floated out of here

Singing ha la la la de day
Ha la la la de day ha la la de day

She runs through the streets
With her eyes painted red
Under a black belly of cloud in the rain
In through a doorway she brings me
White gold and pearls stolen from the sea
She is raging, she is raging
And a storm blows up in her eyes
She will suffer the needle chill
She is running to stand still

...

I still haven't found what I'm looking for
- U2

I have climbed the highest mountains
I have run through the fields
Only to be with you
Only to be with you

I have run I have crawled
I have scaled these city walls
Only to be with you
But I still haven't found
What I'm looking for

I have kissed honey lips
Felt the healing in her fingertips
It burned like fire
This burning desire
I have spoke with the tongue of angels
I have held the hand of a devil
It was warm in the night
I was cold as a stone
But I still haven't found
What I'm looking for

I believe in the Kingdom Come
Then all the colors will bleed into one
But yes I'm still running.
You broke the bonds
You loosened the chains
You carried the cross
And my shame
And my shame
You know I believed it
But I still haven't found
What I'm looking for

(PS: Not a christian personally, but love the theme of that song anyway)
